Repeater
May 2021

Medium:
Durational Walk

Duration:
9 Days, 180 miles
Repeater was the first durational walk I completed, beginning in Brooklyn and ending in Philadelphia. Conceived during the pandemic—after months of walking New York City—it emerged from an interest in thru-hiking and a question: what would happen if that logic were applied to the most densely populated corridor in the United States?

The route was mapped in advance, with lodging secured along the way. Each night, I sent a dispatch documenting the day’s passage. The walk established the template for my durational practice: committing to a fixed route, walking it in full, and allowing distance and repetition to generate the work.

Stops included North Bergen, Newark, Woodbridge Township, Princeton, Trenton, Bristol, and Philadelphia. Read more here.
